Waimea College will be closed tomorrow, Thursday 18 August.
Since our last update the weather event being experienced in the region has been upgraded to a red weather warning.
Key Points:
- A state of emergency has been declared for the Nelson-Tasman region.
- Local councils are discouraging non-essential travel and requesting that people work from home.
- Waimea College will be closed tomorrow, Thursday 18 August.
- We are aware that some students and families are heavily impacted by this event with flooding and/or loss of electricity. A formal online learning programme will not be in place tomorrow, however students are encouraged to check Microsoft Teams and to engage with school work where they are able.
- A reminder that Waimea College is also closed on Friday 19 August which was scheduled as a region-wide Teacher Only Day.
